We have pleasure in quoting as follows

Outward Bound Calais to Nice, Sunday 28th August £420 per 2 bikes and riders

Total cost £2100 (10 Bikes)
Total cost £1680 (8 Bikes)

The accommodation on the train would be 2 bed sleepers we can request that you are all in the same carriage. (subject to availability). For the group we would make separate bookings as French Motorail has facility for making group bookings

I have gone back and asked for costs on 4 & 6 birth sleepers, to see if it works out more cost effective.

Well when you consider the amount of fuel and tyres you'll get through doing the 800 miles of so getting there, and the fact that you get there over night, so it doesn't take out any of the riding time, and it's 1 night less for a hotel, I think it's not that bad.

By getting down to the South coast overnight, you then have a day to play on the Cote d'Azur before heading off into the mountains.

Having just returned from a French blast down as far as the Millau Bridge the motorail option would seem very attractive. Its a hell of a slog through france down to there, minimum 2 days for me. Some really really ace roads D940/N120 esp. but I'm thinking of railing it next time or doing the santander ferry then riding up. Top top country for the bike though :D
