The final Enduro du Touquet 05/06 Feb

FYI everyone

This insane dirt bike event is being held for the last time on the above date. Like Weston super Mare enduro but MORE

Apparently they are causing damage to the sand dunes (?!) so it has to stop.

I'm going over with some mates. Could be a good trip.

The Le Touquet Race is amazing, 1000 or more bikes in a mass start, camping in any grass bit of town you could find, and a weekend party on the beach, (in Winter!).
The circuit is about 9 or so miles mostly through the dunes, but with a 3 mile straight on the beach front, there are about 10 people who have a reasonable chance of winning, most people are pleased if they finish a lap.
The last 2 times I have been there have been paths roped off through the dunes that you must stick to, sadly this has made the race difficult if not impossible to view from most parts of the circuit, there have been problems with erosion for many years and everyone knew it had to end sometime.
A brilliant event and one that could only ever happen in France, it's not like the Weston beach race at all, it's a much much bigger event.

If you can, GO.
