Correct GSX shock for a Curvey
 

I know its been asked a million times, and I've had a hunt around but I can't find the info and I'm just off home. But what the best shock for my 2001 SV650S from a GSX (or anything else), the year and model if you can. Then I can start my ebay hunt as my original is just about to reach the 28k mark.

PS. Needs to cope with 13st 4 and 130miles a day.

SRAD 99 (600/750) model is the only shock that fits. The newer is much different. You'll love the mod, bike handles totally different :)

Well, 96-00 SRAD anyway. Plus there's others that'll g in with various levels of modification- hayabusa, Kwak 636, ZX10R and ZX10R. Gixxer is most common swap, but it seems mainly because it's been around for longer and it was the first swap to become well known. ZX10R seems to be getting the best feedback now.

how much persuasion does the ZX10 shock require?

The GSXR is a straight fit (pretty much) while you'll have a fanny on with the other shocks.

I really don't think you'll see too much difference between an ZX10 and GSXR shock compared to say an SV shock and GSXR shock.

Lots of other rubbish in there that I don't want though.... and the shock looks a bit of a mess... mmmh.

The problem with the GSXR ones is just that they're all old now... And they've got a pretty limited lifespan too, like the stock item they're supposedly off the boil by 15000 miles, so a good one is hard to find. I got fed up looking... But there's loads of Ninja ones since people pull them out of race bikes.

Andrew, does your bike have the standard battery box fitted or does it have an undertray that replaces it? Can't remember...
