Scrub ya tyres
Can you speed up the scrub on new tyres. Has any one thought of geting sandpaper to the tyre?

Since you've only just got your bike I would seriously consider using the the "scrubbing in" miles to get used to your bike and the idiots on the road, believe me I learnt the hard way.

The scrubbing in the tyres is required as you need to get heat into them to get the tyre mold resin out. The resin on the tyre helps it come out of the mold easier, but makes the tyre on the road a tad slippery. If you do a long journey on a dry warm day then the scrubbing will probably go a lot quicker, but the 100 miles is recommend as it covers the 'most situations'. If the tyre doesn't get a lot of heat in it, say lots of short journeys then I would consider extending this time. Or maybe taking some timeout to due a proper run in.

Sandpaper is only used by a couple of people to get rid of the chicken stripes on the tyres, namely Iansv

Maybe a set of tyre warmers would help?
