Bandit Discs on SV

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...tem=7948484320

I'm about to purchase these a bit cheaper than the asking price and use them on my SV. Will I have any problems???

What do you mean by that. If they fit the SV why should you have a problem.

All I can say is that the guy is a breaker so he should be able to say definitely whether they are straight or not. If he is saying they are untested, it could mean he has checked them and they are not straight and he is just coving his back but then again maybe he has not checked them  and in that case they might or might not be straight

I've bought from that bloke before, mostly ok.
He does change his ID a lot tho doesn't he?

As far as I recall, both the SV and the Bandit have exactly the same wheels, brakes and disks. Could be wrong, but I don't think I am.

At that sort of price you can buy them and if they aren't right sell them again or just stick them in the bin!

The guy is part of three people in Crook who break bikes up. Co-incidentally my shock I just bought came from another of the two people!

I've asked him to check discs and he says looks fine and when both discs together they dont have unusual gap inbetween, so outer part of disc is ok. Have barely been used.

Unfortunately he doesn't have a bandit wheel though he does have a GSXR wheel. I'm going to compare tomorrow as neither I nor he have any idea if it fits.

My pet hate is people who end auctions early. It's just not fair on everybody else you is interested in bidding on the item.

GSXR wheel has a 20mm spindle Bandit/Sv has 17mm. You could use the Gixer wheel if you swop bearing but if it's an early model wheel it'll have curved spokes. Wheels from '94 on were straight spokes like SV.

I know what you mean but at the same time loads of people keep waiting till the last moment so I can understand why some sellers have no qualms about ending early. It's probably worse if the seller puts no reserve on the item so to him it's a case of take a reasonable amount by ending early or take a chance that there will be a few reasonable late bids.

I guess it's one of those situations where both sides of the equation are looking after no.1. Never done it myself though.

Ben

Not the early ones though. If remember correctly it's the 2000 onwards(new shape). You need to change the front wheel spacer and bearings.

Cheers
