Carbon Can co
Has anyone had any problems fitting an End can from Carbon Can Company?
I've just fitted one to my wife's SV650s K4. The problem is the angle of the link pipe. With the new Can on, it sticks out an odd angle. Not quite as bad as the Guy with the blue flame a few threads back, but not right all the same. I wondered if there was a different link pipe between the K3 and K4 models, as the standard systems follow different lines. According to CCC, they sell the same link pipe for K3 and K4 models, so I'll e-mail them a picture. The only way to get the Can to fit has been to remove the pillion footrests, twist the link pipe inwards, and have the Can in an upswept position, and make a new bracket to connect the Can loop to the frame. The effect is in fact quite pleasing, but not what the manufacturer intended, and for now at least no pillions can be taken. Anyone else had any problems? Thanks |
I'm surprised they make the same link pipe for the 03 and 04 considering the differences in the subframe and footrest hangers
See current month on the main site, feb 1st. This guy fitted an standard 04 exhaust on an 03 machine and the can doesn't quite line up on the footrest hanger. http://www.sv650.org/gallery/pic39/calvin1.jpg John |
The link pipe really should be different between the k3 and k4, as John suggested.

I brought a High Level kit from CCC last year. Mine kicks out slightly, but was told this was due to being designed to clear original indicators and rear fender.
I'm going send mine back to get shortened by an inch or two, one to bring it in line with the end of the seat unit and two to make it look a bit closer to the bike from behind. CCC said it'll cost about £25.00 to do plus postage. The link pipe would be the same for 03 & 04 as the can follows the line of the seat unit not the sub frame. The 04 sub frame drops lower then kinks up to follow the same line as the 03. Also what bracket have you got? Is it 'P' or 'C' shaped? I was given a p shaped originally by accident which pushed the can outwards. I phoned CCC and they sent me a 'C' shaped one first class and it arrived the next morning (customer servise for you) hope this helps a bit |

They do kick out slightly more than original but look great. Also ensure you clamp to outside of hanger bracker, not inside like original. Hope that helps, |
