Should Valentines Day be banned forever?
 

I hate Valentines Day and i think it should be banned.

I have a zillion and one arguments why its a rubbish thing.Mainly..
Its just another commercial nonsense designed to take our money.

G/f has only ever given me one reason why its good. Its as follows.
"Its the only time that men who cant or dont show their feelings/ emotions at other times, can do so. The shops are all catering for you lazy guys so there is no excuse."

I think after your teens it has especialy less significance.

So a multi-sex poll is in order me thinks.

Views please. if you can be bothered... or aren't running around like a fool trying to get things at last minute. :roll:

It's not the end of the world - It's excuse, if needed, to be romantic and show your loved one much you do, love them!

I hate the commercial side of it; me and Laura will be staying in with a meal for two indian from Tesco's, plenty of red wine, and some decent DVD's.... lovely :P

I don't see it as a problem, like Christmas.
It's only as commercial as you let it be but that doesn't mean you should make an effort just because of the day it is, again, just like Christmas.

So I didn't vote for any of your options since my vote would be leave it alone but tell all the big companies that try to nose in to F off.

You shouldnt make an effort on one day of the year, If you love your partner you should show them often and not wait for a commerical naff tacky day to tell them that you love them and then make no effort at all for the rest of the year

Same here. We're going to stay in and cook a meal tonight. I'll get some chocolates on the way home and I've printed out the spoof "Tesco Value Valentine Card" (see earlier thread).

What I'm dreading is if she mentions the M word. Miss Foxy has made it quite plain that she'd like to be Mrs Wyrdness. I'm quite happy in our current living-together state and am scared of such permanent commitment. We do think that we're completely right for each other and it's the best relationship that either of us has ever had.
