Help with exhaust install
Guys -
How on earth do you cut the stock exhaust to fit a slip-on silencer in its place? Is there any way you can take it off to make the cut? Any suggestions? I have been sitting with a hacksaw and trying to cut this f-ing thing for an hour now and there is no good angle to approach it at, whilst it's still on the bike. Is there a diagram for installing slip-ons out there? This is very frustrating! :x :x :x Someone out there must know this dilemma... It's an 03' sv650N Thanks! |
Use a power saw...piece a cake  Luckily I had a mate who had one. After blunting 3 hacksaw blades I nearly cut through the carpet with the powersaw it was that easy

Using a blade meant for metal is usually a good start.
A hacksaw should go through it relatively easily. |
angle grinder with diamond cutting dics, should go through it quite easy
Grinder £15 from argos, disc pack £5 Oh did i mention their fun, just be careful covering up the paintwork, haha |

I too found that you couldn't get at it using a full size hacksaw so instead I used a junior hacksaw, about five blades and 45 minutes of bloody hard work.
The cutting bit is not a lot of fun but its worth all the effort in the end  |
