1/5 turn throttle tube

Has anybody tried one of these or something similar?

http://www.brgracing.com/throttle.html

I have recently invested in some of the new oxford heated grips to replace my existing motrax ones which suffer the same trouble with ally bars as the first generation of oxfords.
The problem is I am expecting a bit of hassle when it comes to removing the grip from the throttle tube as I dont want to destroy the grip itself in the process, so whilst scouring the net for a new throttle tube (as well as my post in the wanted's http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=18993) I came across the one in the above link and was wondering if they were a worth while buy so I could kill two birds with one stone and fit em together.

you know that's not a whole grip, just a wee bit that goes on it? better alternative is to get an 03/04 R6 throttle tube, gives you the same effect and bolts straight on. Still not done it because I don't want to give my local Yam dealer any money, but I think Burner did just recently...

Spot on :)

Ron, I'd have posted your site but I forgot that it covers the 99-02 swap as well as the injected swap... I've been doing my usual for a while- read about something clever on SVRider, then post it over here and claim the credit ;)

I haven't fitted mine yet, waiting for the rest of my parts to arrive before commencing work.

GAH! You're supposed to be the one that actually does stuff, I'M the one who buys the stuff then keeps it in a box for 6 months

BURNER 27-02-05 11:56 PM
