awwww man, sorry for you.

and i just posted the "what's it like then" question on your other thread.

Couerdelion 01-03-05 10:56 AM

Can I ask which dealers it is?

PoRk ChOp 01-03-05 10:57 AM

Why Thursday??? It only takes 10 mins to do all that :? Mine was registered on the morning that I picked it up.

Get onto them and tell them to pull their fingers out and get it sorted.

Gutted for you mate, but I still cant see why you have to wait till then???

markfc 01-03-05 11:00 AM

I thought it only took 10 mins too, but they told me they have to send everything to bangor to get processed....

I smell porkie pies

They told me this morning that I would need to give them my insurance docs too so that they can get the tax and register the bike with the DVLA...

are they lying?

Whats worse is today is the sunniest day we've had for two weeks!!

:-(

mind you, from the title of this thread my first reaction was that you had crashed it.

ring DVLA, they're quite helpful these days and will be able to give you the right answer. good luck.

markfc 01-03-05 11:03 AM

Ha Ha, i wish i'd had the cnace to crash it !!! (not really)

Cloggsy 01-03-05 11:14 AM

Make sure you express your disappointment to them & get some money/kit off them in compensation

Scoobs 01-03-05 11:17 AM

Have they never sold a bike before?

BillyC 01-03-05 11:18 AM

Hi Mark, sorry about the delay you've got.

Registering a vehicle doesn't take long - but you can't do it at just any old post office, you have to go to one that's a DVLA office too. Looks like they've not done their visit!

Taxing the vehicle - yes, like any other time you tax your car, bike, tractor, lorry, bus etc... you have to present valid insurance documents for it. Just because it's new doesn't let you off - a good thing too in my opinion!

Large dealerships may be set up to do all the above themselves, though I've never seen this at a bike dealer, I've come across it at car dealers. However, they still have to be as strict as your local PO.
