Had to shoot the SV

Hey all,

Sadly today I had to send my K3 to trade in heaven. At 6am this morning as I was wiping snow from my visor life was pretty bleak. The SV has served well....but I must admit by about 11am I had a pretty big smile on my face again - May I introduce....the Ducati Monster S2R....

The added bonus of a couple of weeks old model with the first days '05 plate. Oddly not planned. Just liked the look of it when I got there.

Guess I have to go stalk the Ducati (more hair gel than talent  ) forums now!

On the plus side if anyone with a silver K3 still has a nasty oem rear end and likes the look of a colour coded undertray with the integral indicators then I may just have one lying around in the garage as I never had the nerve to take hacksaw to bike.....

There's something really sexy about a single swingie. Looks good.

Nice lookin bike, i agree about single sided swinarms too ;)

Did you get the yellow one as in the pic? I've seen em in black with a rfed stripe and it looked very nice in that combo.

just wondering

It looks great yes. But the question is why the S2R? It's certainly no faster than the SV, is more unreliable and will cost more to service and insure.

Better suspension? Agreed, but that's it.

Hope you're happy with it though.

But it looks amazing and it's a ducati...

I would have one, but garaged and would certainly keep the SV..

pretty bike dude. Enjoy it 8)

Yep - got it in the yellow with the black stripe down it. They come in red with a white stripe and the "dark" matt black.

I know its no more economic than an SV, in fact more expensive. Ducati insurance beat my SV insurance with better cover (I was surprised). But I hack winter with a BMW650GS (heated grips...and can be pushed over by cars more times and get back up  )

The Ducati sounds awesome and turns heads. Poserish ? Maybe 8)

I can only say its a great ride and the relaxed seated position makes a nice change from the SV. Two very different bikes. I think its my middle age creeping up on me. Be getting slippers for christmas next!
