Bit of help needed for a Honda....
Ok, a mate of mine is new to biking and has got a Honda CB500 Model R, last night he had an off whilst going around a roundabout and his back tyre slide on a manhole cover that had a nice big puddle on it. Unfortunately, the bike then slide for about 10 meters at about 15 mph twisting the front forks, disc, wheel and handle bars. My mate is sore but ok, and is gutted about his bike which he fears is a write off (its his first bike and he has had it a couple of months at the most). Does anyone know of a place in east london-ish that he could take it to?

Kate,
If he's going to take it somewhere and have that damage corrected - then yes it is probably well and truly written off! There are plenty of places that can straighten forks, provide cheap parts, and check things out - but to be cheap, you've got to do the dismantle and rebuild yourself. If he needs new forks, and probably a new wheel, and new calipers etc... he could try the bike breakers; failing that, a new bike? |
