SV650S with renthals?

OK , well as you know I want a naked one really, but I do like the S version, just I wanted renthal style bars.. soo.... anyone put renthals on a S version of the SV? Any pictures? good/bad/ugly?

I've seen VTR storms with renthals (I know different bikes but still semi faired things) and it looked great but wondering if anyones done it to an SV?

I'd have a look over at the american site sv http://www.svrider.com/ theres a few things on there about attaching them.

I reckon it'd look good with some renthals, thanks for the link to the guide, he's used some slightly different bars so doesn't look quite how I'd expect but still cool

Another question, won't the SV650 top yoke and cables etc fit straight on??? Should be cheaper and easier to do surely?

Hopefully will have an SV next week and tempted to do this in a few weeks/months time.

I am just on with fitting renthals onto my 650s,

From what i can see and i may be wrong but you can re route the throttle cables to come outside the forks instead of thru the legs, this will hopefully give you enough free cable on turns.
The brake pipe must be lengthened, M&P will make a goodridge type hose for you for £10 per hose, measure it with some string once bars are fitted and they will make it to your spec.

I have kept the original s clocks and made a bracket for them.
I have a motocross style streetfighter fairing to fit with universal headlight brackets (or you could make your own if that way inclined)

I havent drilled the top yoke yet as i am still looking for the some 650N risers/clamps to try, if that route doesnt work then i will buy some from M&P, angled risers for £35.

As soon as i get pics i will put them up.
Cheers,
JB

Thanks jake, would appricieate the pics :)

I plan to leave the half fairing/clocks as they are and just fit some nice gold un-braced renthals, maybe some fat bars depending on clamps.

I'm aware that a bit of the fairing needs to be cut though.

Not 100% sure I'm going to do this, no real need to other than that I like it. Whatever I do I will probably convert it back to standard when I come to sell though so I don't want to do anything too permenant! :)

These are always an option... Do the same thing and are adjustable for comfort...

Worth a look

Thanks, saw them, but they scream "old man, ooo my back hurts" rather than "im a wheely machine" like the renthals do

I'm only 19 so don't really have any back issues just yet ;)

Just want renthals as it makes wheelies/messing about a bit easier

and the streetfighter look with renthals looks awesome, go for it dude
