Have I just been ripped off?
Just been to replace my borderline tires with Pirelli Diablos and it cost me £220 for the lot (i.e. including fitting).
Consider as well though that the garage that did it is one of very few sole traders round here and provides a polite, efficient and without fail, reliable service - which I don't mind paying a little more for. However, without being able to shop around without leaving the area, it still seemed quite steep. Thanks all - SV.org user opinions always valued and appreciated. |
That's not cheap, but it's quite within normal amounts for fitted diablos.

I got Bridgestone BT020's (not Diablos I know) ride in ride out (not loose wheels) for £175
|
its about right for a set of diablos but if you were to shop around you may have found them a little cheaper
|
Btw, just as a comparison, Tyresalesuk do a pair deal for diablos at £175 and bt020s for £157.
Both loose tyres, no fitting at all, but I think it just shows that Scoobs got a really good deal on fitting whereas you merely paid, more or less, normal price. |

I'd be tempted to order loose tyres and fit them myself. Did my front a couple of weeks ago in about 15 minutes. Obviously I can't balance them.

little bit over the odds but not in rip off territory really

You can always expect to pay for good service OBO
I try to support local shops/dealers before going further afield, it usually pays to keep em sweet, you never know when you may need them out of hours etc. That in mind the internet has just about sorted out extortionate pricing hasnt it? JB |
