to my error i last night removed my rear wheel to give the sprocket a clean, ok i admit it i was tinkering..


i took off the caliper, loosened the chain tensioners, took out the axle ..

but when i put it back together the wheel binds when i tighten the axle nut, i cant see what ive done wrong but summats not right, the wheel is binding miles below the torque amount.

what could it be Caliper, Spacer,

five minute job ends up with bike jacked up forever and a torque wrench embedded in the roof truss.

Did you get teh spacers back in correctly - they can be little devils for moving as you slide the axle in!

i think so, the spacer on the sprocket side fell out but i cleaned it up and put it back in, can this go in wrong?

i can get it all in and the wheel spins fin until i tighten it up

yeah defo check the spacers are correct, I initially put mine back wrong

Also, for future reference, there's no need to loosen the chain tensioners.

Sounds like you have either put your spacers in wrong, or possibley the wheel barings are nearly knacked. When you tighted up if the barings are loose it will just nip everything up, hence whell not turning when you tighted up.

Check the spacers first tho.

Ok looking at the wheel from the rear.

on the left hand side there is a round inch think spacer. This oges between the wheel and the swing arm.

On the inside of the sprocket housing is a long spacer that flares out on one end, this fits inside the sprocket carrier and stops the sproket carrier squishing the cush drive

On the right you have a round spacer with 2 flat flanges that fits between the wheel and the rear brake braket.

It sounds like the spacer between the sproket carrier and the wheel hasnt been inserted.
