Cool Dude Copper (yes...really)

So I'm out on Saturday with a mate on his Ninja and we have been all over Suffolk and Norfolk with me on my new Blade. Heading for home, we have a slight detour through the lanes around Stansted Airport, trying to find a bike customising place out there (have tracked it down now). Come up to a small three-road roundabout, where we want to take the second exit from where we are. Mr Plod sitting in exit one, indicating to go down the road where we are sitting. So we move off and take our exit. Mr Plod then cancels his indicators and begins to follow us. Cue very careful riding.

Surprise, surprise, some little way down the road on come the lights and siren. My mate nips off slightly ahead in to a farm entrance, leaving me to deal with the cop. Out he gets wanders over and says nice bike, where you been then etc etc. So we have a nice little chat and he tells me he had a ZX7R before he had to sell it last year.

The he says - don't want to spoil your ride (me thinks - here comes the safety lecture) so how about we go the other way or they give us a head start! That way you can wind it on a bit (his words!)

Top bloke - recognised we were having a good time but not being idiots and basically told us to go for it a bit more. Not something we are used to with Essex police and thier infamous zero tolerance policy. Wish I had got his collar number to give him credit here for a 100% customer service rating, but then identifying him may have got him in to trouble with the big chiefs. :P

I've never had a problem with essex police, didn't know they had any kind of zero tolerance.....

Hope your enjoying the new bike

Always nice to deal with "real people" coppers. Fair play to them, I've had more positive than negative experiences on a personal level (as opposed to ****-poor response times, etc.) with them.

Don't hold it against me but my brothers a traffic cop, unfortunatly for me he doesn't like the fact that he might have to scrap his little sister off the road one day. This means keeping well away from his patch cos he says he's gonna pick on me till i lose my licence. Only one thing for it i've gotta keep my bike in A1 condition and ride like the perfect little angel.

I'll bring him round to my way of thinking, give me a year he'll have a bike of his own.

If he ever does "pick on you", appeal and cite that in your defense in court... He's shot himself in the foot there.
