Air in my scottoiler

I seem to have air in the delivery tube of my scottoiler. I blew it through the other week, so the tube was full of oil, then adjusted to get about 1 drip/30 secs or so. But now I have air in the tube again and no lubrication.

It was working well, but seems to have acquired this problem in the last 2 or 3 months.

Cheers

Ian

If you put the dial right round to "prime", i.e. max, the oil should run through on its own without the engine running. Does yours do this? :?

It might be possible that the breather pipe (the one that goes onto the black rubber filler plug) is blocked which will stop any oil coming out, or if the vac pipe is blocked it won't open the delivery valve when the engine's running.

Mine did that I set it to prime and left it for a while and it sorted it out

Mind you I forgot to set it back to its normal drip setting and I didnt realise till I had a nasty moment and then though oh I forgot about my scotoiler.. needless to say it pumped the oil all over my bike and back tyre
