Question re style v indictors

Just picked up a pair of clear flush indys (impulse buy), plan was to use on the rear, however having looked at the bike the aftermarket tray would suit small arrows better. Therefore could I use them on the front?

Looked at the positioning that would be required to cover the hole left by the standards indys

Te question is ... Has anyone done this ?

Are the indys visiable from the front to oncoming cars... Dont want to get wiped out!!!

How do I know if I will need flasher unit/restictors if I run Flush on the fron and some mini arrows to the rear?

Help - lecy is not my thing!!

you can fit them to the front but there barely visable in daylight. and not much better at night i changed mine and got led arrows from motrax there great :) make sure you get the short stem ones thou. when you drop it you will be glad you did. (wont crack fairing )

oh you will need a resitior if you get the led arrows there about £9.00 i recomend you get things like this fitted by someone who is well qualifed (your dealer/trusted friend) best not to take any chances with this kind of stuff

Get in touch with Motrax, they sent me a new set of 'proper' resistors for free

cheers cloggsy but my local bike shop already tryed that and they were going to charge 5.80 each for the pleasure of a resister, that was more than the flasher unit you could get fot 19.99. what are they playing at why don't they just send them if you need them. you must have been one of the lucky ones cloggsy .

thanks anyway

My e-mail to the went along the lines of:-

"I bought an item which isn't fit for it purpose, you are now telling me that I have to buy an additional piece of equipment to make the item which I originally bought work... Doesn't sound right to me, perhaps I had ought to take some Trading Standards advice on the matter..."

Funny old thing, the resistors arrived the very next day - 1st class recorded...

£5.88 for resistors??????

They are taking the p*ss.

Mine were 19p each from Maplins - see here:-

cheers guys, mattsv when you fit your resisters did you just soldier them onto the original or did you make your own cables ?

My motrax LEDs came with resistors already fitted, however they still flashed too fast.

I chopped off the original resistors and soldered in a 10 watt 10 ohm resistor in their place in parallel (i.e. ACROSS THE WIRES) - didn't need to make any other cables up, other than having to chop off the connector block from the OE indicators and connecting that to the new LED indicators.

I was looking at an SV last week that had flush mounts fitted to the space where the OE indicators were, however he also had converted the sidelights to indicators so visibility from the front was not an issue.

UPDATED - just realised yours is a curvy so doing the sidelights is not an option for you
