summer tyres?

any tyre suggestions for the upcoming summer??? do remember that summer usually means wet
k4 650s
still on origional rubber and i find they get a bit slippery on roundabouts, especialy when cranked over and this doesent fulfill me with huge amounts of confidence as u may well guess.

also is it best to get my dealer to fit them or is it easy enough for a novice to? (ie. me)

oh and i dont ride over 100 so they dont need to cope with that, its mainly to and from work type of riding and out on weekends for a blast. i really havent got a clue have i!! bloody kids!

The tyres of choice seem to be Metz Z6's or Pirelli Diablos...

Ride it, ride out will be about £170 - £200 depending on where you go... If you're a novice (like me ) then this is the route I'd take...

Read through the tyre section for more info on tyres...

I'm still on stock rubber, coz I can't justify getting new tyres til these ones are knackered :!: :(

Or bridgestone 020's or Continental Roadattacks.... or if its summer use and not in rain then 014's are worth thinking about

or for the ultimate, Rennsports, but they are expensive (£230) and last about as long as a cold beer on a hot day (1850 miles).

I used to fit my own tyres in the passed, but to be honest technology has moved on and you'd need a bead breaker and wheel balancer, so unless you race or go through loads of them it isn't worth the trouble.

Cheers Mark.

I stick to 020 - a bit of a compromise for the wet - but still really good

Road Attacks are better than the 020s, (says me), and generally a bit cheaper too.

That's a good point.
Anybody gonna try the new Avons out before I spend my hard earned?

Is that tyre place down by infinity any good, if not where do you get yours?

The quotes they've given me are bloody expensive.
My first pair were from Cambrian Tyres in Aberystwyth with a lovely run through the mountains to scrub them in.
My second rear was from Barclays in Boscombe. Could be cheaper but not too bad. I can't remember what brands he stocks other than Bridgestones, though.
