Seeking advice on my fork internals and seals.
 

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what brand/where to buy new fork seals or are they all the same and I should buy the cheapest ones that I can find. I managed to blow them after a few too many miles hard hits on the stock front end of my 01 SV650S. I am replacing the internals of the forks along with the seals so if anyone has any suggestions on those I would appreciate it. As to the internals I was thinking of going through Spears enterprises (www.spearsenterprises.com) and picking up racetech springs ($100), and racetech emulators ($140) along with heavier oil. I am 6'1'' tall and 180lbs on a 01 SVS. I dont spend much time on the track but ride hard on the roads. Advice?

.....or would a GSXR front forks and triple tree mount up onto the SV. I found this setup on e-bay and all I would need is a gsxr wheel and disks. Or could I use the SV rim with gsxr disks?

I have GPS on the bike so I can deal with the speedo not working.

That's 2 big questions there :) For seals and bushes I just use Suzuki ones, they're not expensive and it beats mucking about with pattern parts which might not fit- nothing worse than being 3/4 through a job and finding out you have a wrong part. That's really a personal choice though.

On the internals, I didn't fit emulators but they seem a great solution for the SV- one thing though, there's a lot of conflicting advice abotu setting them up, apparently one phase of the instructions (whether it's the brazing or drilling, I can't recall) is totally counterproductive. If I was doing it I'd get the Traxxion drop-in kit with the different damper rods and emulators.

If you want more performance, though, you could consider Traxxion's Axxion cartridge kit for the SV- $999 and it's a new product, so I've not heard much about it yet. On paper it looks great.

GSXR front end's a bit more complex obviously- and as far as I know there's no simple way to keep the stock wheel. GSXR discs don't bolt to a carbed SV wheel (or so they say) so you'd probably need to have custom disc carriers made. Also, you'd need to build or have made a custom axle. Lots of hassle, basically... On the other hand, it's supposed to be quite straightforward to mount the speedo drive on the rear wheel, which means you can do a complete front end transplant.

:shock: $999, I think I will pass on that one but the Traxxion drop in kit is feasable. As to the GSXR front end, the auction that I linked to includes the triple tree, forks, damper, clipons, calipers, master cyl, controls, and axle. Everything but the wheel and disks. So, it is a matter of getting a wheel and disk and bolting it all up. (I think)

You'd definately need to work on the yokes- check your PM :)
