Insurance

Well after reading MCN and finding out the difference to be made by phoning round I rang a few companies as my renewal is due next month.

My details are

31 yr old
Live in an ok area of Leeds (although for those who know Leeds if you live anywhere near the magic triangle - Gipton, Halton Moor and Seacroft - which I do - then you will be classed as high risk (Magic triangle because anything can and does disappear once it goes in there))
K3 Sv650s registered in 04. (datatool s3 and alphadot)
Garaged overnight.
8000 miles a year
pillion carrying
SDP only
Fully comp cover.
4 yrs NCB

Renewall from Motorcycle direct - £290.76 (xs £500)

Bennetts - £380.07 (xs £350)

CIA - £265 (£250 xs) with Landmark

Carole Nash - £333.86 (xs £500) included breakdown cover even though I don't need it as I'm an AA member.

Virgin - £275.00 (£250 xs) with landmark. Told them I had been quoted cheaper by CIA (who they are a part of IIRC) and they managed to lower this to £245)

Just rang back Motorcycle Direct and they have dropped it to £249.81.

So difference betwwen highest and lowest is £135.
Even if I just renew with Motorcycle direct the 20 mins of phoning round has saved me ~ £30 :D
