You should be able to but some new strapping from Remus, the rest of the scratches on the metalwork should polish out (I would have thought)

You might as well re-pack the thing while its apart too ;)

I've got one strap in the garage that might fit...

http://performanceracingparts.co.uk/ for exhaust parts. they also do repairs... You might want to consider resleeving it, but that's going to cost you a fair bit more, and you'd lose the logo unless you fork out for a Remus one. Obviously you'll also need a rivetter to reassemble it.

Seth,
I was told at Ally Pally that you can buy a new (Titanium) skin from Remus for around £60 if that helps

I just ordered 2 BSAU Straps off ebay rivets included £4.50 each 8)

Didn't know how to get the rivets out so first i drilled in the hole :? then notice i only have to drill the head off

I'll leave the skin as there's not much damage to it.

What can i use to polish the scratches out ?

I'd use Autosol, but, you'd probably need something a little more 'industrial' - you can buy mop kits that fit into an electric drill, they come with polishing compounds. They'll do the job, or, someone on here has just done an amazing job of their down-pipe with one of those Black & Decker 'Mouse' sanders (with a polishing pad)... worth a look...

Busters do the polishing kits...

The 3M polishing mats that Homebase sell are fantastic for finishing... Not cheap for what they are (they're not much more than flat high-density steel wool) but they make the job so easy...
