usd forks for sv650 naked
 

I am intending to convert my sv650 into more of a meaner looking streetfighter machine, and want to wack on some usd forks (up side down).
ive been looking at the gsxr forks, but all i want to know is has anyone done anything like this before and if so could they give me some advise as to which forks would actually fit, (steerer diameters, and all that) and if anyone is or knows of anyone who is selling any forks.

Yep, the process is pretty well laid out now... Depends whether you've got a carbed or injected model how you go about it though.

There's two places in the US that'll sell you a bearing that means you can fit GSXR yokes direct to an SV, everything else is just making numberplates :) There's various tricks and parts that work particularily well on the different models though.

Hi there I have done the front end exchange with a sv 650 s using a pre srad gsxr 750 complete front end the only problems are the speedo drive from the front wheel and the gsxr clpons are not as high canted as the sv one so new riser bars are required to stop the cables hitting the top of the fairing and change the speedo for a mechanicle one if you dont have an s model then you can use the gsxr clipons

thanks for the advise. i would prefer to use the standard handlebars, so i have found a way, im either going to drill holes int he top yolk and bolt the handlebar clamps on, or get them welded on.
as for the speedo problem, i have found a cure for that.

Just as a mater of interest the top yoke from a hyabusa fits on to the gsxr 750 forks and the bars are on top of the yoke

Try looking for a yamaha trx 850 shock it fits straight on and raises the rear a bit as well not only that it is an ohlins shock and realy works and is fully adjustable I have one on my SV only paid £19 .00 and that was with postage got it off ebay in mint condition javascript:emoticon(':roll:')
