you only need one arm
 

it,s three weeks since i separated my collarbone from my shoulder whilst mountain biking, or should that be crashing, and i,m still in a sling for anothe two weeks. so no biking or cycling but plenty of boredom. in that time i have one handedly (?) removed wheels and stripped them for powder coating and removed subframe for same. cleaned up and painted bobbins on discs, fitted spiral wrapping to all the under seat and tank wiring and tomorrow i,m going to try to remove suspension kinkage and clean and regrease. i think building the wheels back up especially fitting the new bearings should be a sufficient challenge to see me through to recovery but ifv not any suggestions would be appreciated as to what else you can do with one arm. think the kinkage was a freudian slip :wink:

cant think of many things u can do with one arm. im sure there are, but cant think of any!

the doctor put eye drops in my eyes today so he could see into it better. it made me almost blind for 4 hours and it made me realise how much i need to see! i mean, i had nothing to do until i got my vision back.

its odd the things u take for granted, and makes u think a little more about people who arnt so lucky.

I re-built the front end of my GS 425 hardtail chop, after breaking my collar bone in two places when I got thrown over the bars.
A long gorilla bar for extra leverage on tight fasteners, came in very handy.

Theres a bloke who races at club level with one arm.All the controls are on the right bar.Thats what I call impressive.

I met a bloke in Drayton Croft who did that, could be same man!

Many years ago my mate hit a horse and cart on his Gilera moped :P , he broke his leg and was taken to hospital, they put him in a full pot & the next day he had made a footrest on the front forks and was out riding again, he was back at work the next afternoon driving a diesel bowser with a tractor to pull it

I only have one leg...I lost my leg to a guardrail last year. I now have a left thumb control for my rear brake.

If there is a will, there is a way.

Cool!! (Not cool that you lost your leg) but very cool that you're back out there on a bike, as you say where theres a will theres a way :grin: plus thumb brakes are better for controlling slow wheelies :lol: :twisted:

i really admire that, i not sure if i'd have the will after losing a leg.

Nothing but respect for you there fellow. To go through that and still show everyone that yuor not beaten and will still live life to the full deserves a thumbs up :thumbsup:

I can think of one. Not something you mention in polite conversation though :shock:
