Bar vibes - I can't feel my hands no more.

Maybe I'm being a bit of a girls blouse, but after an hour or so on my SVS my hands go numb and it's a right pain in the, err, hands! :riding:

I seem to recall an old post that suggests changing the bar ends to heavier versions. Is this the way to go and would this affect handling in any way. What about changing the hard plastic grips? Are after market alternatives available?

first thing is get the carbs or FI throttle bodies balanced properly. If they're out it'll vibrate, full stop.

Perhaps you're holding on too tight... Relax

I think somepeople are more sensitive tho. My hands went numb a lot all the time I had my SV, although maybe my FI was always a bit out. Also see how they feel when it wamrs up a bit, doesnt help. Gripping tight doesnt help either. Combination of all these things.

The buggers do vibrate quite alot, but if you really relax your grip they're ok. You'll also find that when cruising there are a few spots in the rev range worse than others.
Oh, and I've just balanced my throttle valves, and it does help a bit.

The guide on Kuhnco is pretty good. You stick the vacumn guages on and twiddle the screw till they're the same. Mine was out by 4cm/Hg, which isn't a huge amount, but was definitely noticable.

Did you buy your gauges, if so, how much & where from :?:

I got some morgan guages from busters. £39 for the 2 cylinder type.

I have a K5 - and find the exact same thing. Since its both new and fuel injected I assume its down to a rubbish front end.
I tried thicker gloves but that did not make any difference.
