Recommend source forZ6's and fork modifications near Reading

Hi all.

Can anyone recommend a bike shop near Reading where I can get both a set of Z6's and the forks on my '01 SVS sorted out?

I need to uprate the springs to a decent linear set and modify the damping but haven't the tools or knowledge to do it myself.

Ideally looking for a place with strong experience of modifying suspension rather than any old shack where they'll just do the labour without the expertise.

And the cheapest set of Z6's I've found so far is £196 fitted to the bike. Is this about right?

Cheers, Steve.

I paid £174 for Z6's fitted in Leeds (ride in - ride out). So you should be able to knock them down a bit.

Although you haven't got the expertise, changing the fork spring and oil shouldn't be a job beyond you. There are plenty of guides about and if you get stuck there is always this site to assist.

Give Micheldever Tyres a call (just off the A303 near Basingstoke) for a quote on the Z6's, I've always found their service good and prices competitive.

I can't help with a Reading bikeshop, but changing the fork springs and oil is a reasonably straightforward job.

Not sure as for tyres but you could always give MTC motorcycles a try for the suspension work, they are on the oxford road Reading meant to be nice bunch of bikers in there.

Ride in bike tyres in Reading might be worth a try for the tyres.

Hav'nt used them yet so no idea of prices though.

I'd definitely recommend MTC - http://www.mtcmotorcycles.co.uk/index.htm
I'm pretty much a fair weather biker only who can't afford a bigger bike (I currently have a DT125) and they've never held that against me. They're friendly, helpful, seem good on price, honest. The only bad thing about them is that they are closed on Sundays and Mondays.
