a quick question I always wondered

Hi,

Whats the highest mileage any one has ever seen on an sv?

Plus does anyone know of a garage (in Bromley area) who works allot with sv's and takes care with his work? just need some work but not sure I trust main dealers any more.

Cheers

Theres a place in orpington called the Motorcycle Workshop. It's run out of a little lock up just off of erm whats it called that big main road where MFI is, 2 lanes each way...i'll dig it out. He did my second service. Cheaper than a main dealer, and he seems to always be pretty busy.

Randy O has Rictus pipped I think, IIRC he's over 105000. Both still clearly insane :)

I think Randy O has about that, and that's in MILES, not KMs! (Damn US won't ever accept the metric system!) These bikes are pretty strong it seems.

We still use miles too. And they're the same size as your miles. Unlike our pints and gallons, which are bigger.

sorry but why does high mileage = insane?

to me it = high enjoyment of life and bike and loads of fun... hmmm unless its in a blizzard then its what I would call interesting... :?

but as I freely admit to my insanity as a 50k miles a year girl I suppose there must be a bit in there somewhere

SV retired now, 151,768 miles total in 2 years 8 months (yes that's before it ever went through an MOT

Just for starters,
high mileage = better value from your Tax / insurance.

£188 divided by say 50,000 miles = 3.76 pence per mile
£188 divided by 5,000 miles = 37.6 pence per mile

See what I mean?

Cheers Mark.

50000 miles at an average of, say, 50mph takes 1000 hours, that's 41 solid days out of 365 sat on the bike  Are you telling me that's not mad at all? :)
