Favourite 1/2 mile?

I'm guessing everyone must have one, jkust a short stretch of road with different bits on to make you feel you're really working your bike...or just makes you grin!

If i ride in to work early enough when the roads are quiet, mine is from the imax roundabout by waterloo bridge. off from the lights, get over nice and low round the roundabout (get a bit lower and faster everyday :D ), and just at the right moment get the power on as you straighten up and fly over waterloo bridge (at 30mph obviously officer  ) then blip and drop down a gear as you go down into the tunnel......couple of really nice curvey bends more noise than you know what to do with....then it's all over to quickly as you come back out onto the road and traffic.....wanna do it again!!!!

How do you eat yours? :D

I found a backroad near Nailsea that is very, very good. Fantastic twisties
and nearby there are big smooth humps in the road (read ramps ) Only thing is, it's not very long, about 1.5 miles. My favourite 1/2 miles would have to be the bit approaching the lights at the end. Only been there once (discovered it last week), but as soon as my new tyres are on, I'll be back on the case :)

The road from the A11 to Lotus Cars (where I work) - they have put a 50mph speed limit in to slow people down, but its an awesome road, only a couple of miles long but full of fast sweeping bends and plenty of visibility... 8)

I dont know the road number but the short stretch of twisties follow by a long straight between the villages of Marston Magna and Mudford

There is an office complex on the way home. It has 4 or 6 double apex corners (half left, half right).

I enjoy a blast through there on my way home / to work as at those times it's deserted :)

Thing is I can now go through there well over the limit without trying so I just have to satisfy myself with 2nd gear and listening to the engine accelerating / braking between the corners...

Hi Rich,

Whoops looks like I got my places mixed up, I meant Nailsworth (http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.c...x=5&right.y=94). Must be remembering Nailsea from when I used to live in Bristol. :) Once I've found it again though, you're welcome to come up one evening (I could meet you at the services near Bath on the M4) now the nights are drawing out.

Cheers,

Ceri

A25, Dorking to Newlands corner. Yes it gets busy, but if you get a good run its brilliant.

Also, the B383 from Sunningdale through to the B3022 at Winkfield, then off past Lego Land towards Windsor, I love that bit of road

Unfortunatly where i am there is not many good routes.

I like the double roundabouts in Elephant & Castle, time it right and you can do both of them quite quick.

The roundabout under the flyover on the old kent road, unfortunatly there are lights that stop you going around in one go.

The a507 from Baldock going east. Must be one of the best roads i've ever rode / driven.
