Mystery pipe at the back of petrol tank?
Hi all.
I've got an '01 SVS and noticed there is a rubber pipe running from a white 'T' piece between the back of the tank and the seat, down to the bottom of the engine on the left (gear change) side. The pipe was actually being squashed between the swingarm and the engine so I've cleaned the outside off and now need to run it elsewhere. Having checked the Haynes manual, I couldn't find what this might be for but I'm guessing it's a breather pipe. On a mates '99 SVS it appears to be routed 'round the right and into a clip near the oil level sight glass. Any ideas? Cheers, Steve. |
overflow mate! the T shape thing ur find conects to radiator overflow so they both can drian onto floor if they overflow, but my sv400S goes down brake lever side!

Bikerz is right. Tis the overflow for the tank, and for the header tank. Should go down by the clutch casing (brake lever side), on 99-02 models, and be pinned close to the engine by a little tag that is held on by the clutch case cover bolts.

hmm
Anyone got a spare tag so I can route this thing to the right place?
If not, I'll see if the local Suzuki shop can get one of them too when I order a new sprocket lockwasher... Cheers, Steve. |
