Hi everyone! New and looking for advice!

Hi,

Just registered today on the forum so hello everyone. I am currently looking at getting a Sv650(unfaired) I am 17 and passed my test on the 9th of May, i am currently on a Sachs XTC125 and now that i have passed test i'm thinknig about moving onto the sv and getting it restricted. Has anyone done the same as me and can tell me what the jump is like? Also i am looking for a general opinion on the bike as a whole?

Many Thanks
Mark

hya buddy
best bet is to get a coffee-some biccies and a comfy chair and spend 3 hours browsing the Q's and forum- archives and search for specific Questions - it may have already been addressed...

just use the search legend at the top click it and type in a keyword for search
you will have many happy hours looking on here...

and short answer- you cant go far wrong with an SV..but if u can find one already 33BHP will save u an annoying cost for the restriction !!

good luck

ps bourbons are my personal favourite

Hi.Good bike but group 9 insurance could set you back a bit.Check price before making a decision,or rob the bank.

Hi, ime restricted and put it this way up against spidy on his nakid bike unrestricted VS my faired bike restricted we are neck and neck up to about 60 then i start tailing off a little up till a ton where he can continue. And remember that the naked is a bit quicker on acceleration than the faried as it has an extra tooth on the rear sprocket.

Put it this way i am being accused by Valman  that my bike is not been restricted properly as he thinks im quick when head to head with spidy. All i have to say to that is that it is and i would bet on it.

If you do get it already restricted try to make sure you get the original sliders for the carbs (if it has been done with a genuine suzuki restriction kit) to put it back to normal when your restriction time is up.

The XTC125 is a pretty decent bike - I think you'll find the SV quite a bit slower in the turns!
