cuting an exhaust
 
right i bought a viper can and it should be delived soon, but if i cut my exaust to put the slip on on, and i need to put the standard back on how would i go about it as surly if i cut it it wont join properly, and id need a soft bit of metal or something to suround the pipe and clamp it in place ??

but this is ov cource if i need to cut my standard for the viper link pipe lol

any of you know how i would go about putting the standard back on for MOTS etc

you need to get a link pipe for the standard can to be joined back on, quite a few of the big name companys like micron do them with their cans, not sure if it can be bought seperatly though

I scrounged a 2 inch length of thin wall stainless pipe from work. It was slightly oversize - I slit it so the gap just closes when tight. Then I used a couple of stainless band clamps.

With the screw part of the band clamps and the slit on the inside it looks fairly neat, and doesn't leak (Anyway - I guess you're only sticking the original back on for MOT day?)

buy a viper baffle £15 thats easyist,then chuck it up the loft for another 12 months!

interesting, it should be ok il just go up B&Q buy some metal bend it round the pipe n clamp it down should be fine its only for MOTs any way hehe im sure i can find a dodgey place lol
