What bike next

now my bike is broken i think its time for a new bike but which one?

I have been ridding for 3 years i do about 300 miles a week an go out for a blast on a weekend so i want a jack of all trades that brings a smile to my face every time i ride but is reliable.

The list could get longer but i cant think of any other bike that i can afford to insure. only 25 years old and live in brum without a garage.

Helps us narrow it down abit. I am sad to to see the SV go though.

Dont forget the Yam fazer thou

Top of my list but decided to stick with the SV for another year of cornering.

Fazer is a great all rounder, simply read the reports, R1 engine and brakes with added high bars for comfort

What, no 'other' :?:

Mine will be a KTM 950SM (if I can tie one down...) But I have just seen a lovely '03' Tuono for sale not far from me

Get the super duke it looks fun.

It does look phone but it price tag is the highest.

The thing that confuses me is the insurance quotes on average £950 full comp on all the bikes above 2005 year but if get GSXR1000, GSXR750 or R1 it goes up £4000 full comp  how much more likely is it to get nicked the the other bikes

Cloggsy the ktm 950 is abit to much on the dakar side for me

Stig 22-05-05 05:49 PM

None of the above. If or when I upgrade it will be to an SV thou.

Jabba 22-05-05 05:58 PM

None of the above.

My short list:

Honda Hornet 900
Honda CB1300
Yamaha Fazer 1000
Kwak Z750 (the insurance friendly, budget option)
Suzuki SV1000S

I think it would have to be the Fazer 1000 over the CB1300 (but it's close).

I'll be looking in a couple of years as I've still got much to learn on the current bike. An updated Hornet 900 might squeak it, though - current one is very underrated.

I'd check out the Fazer thou, RSV-R, Superduke and 636 if I was looking for a new bike tomorrow... But if it's to be an outside bike I'd almost certiany go with the Fazer- not that it'd fare any better in the cold and wet but it's far less likely to get nicked. The insurance might not be higher for the others but the 636 and duke in particular are going to be targets for thieves...

Also, I think the Superduke's sold out for this year? Could be wrong...

All great bikes in your list though.
