john pease - chelmsford

Hi,

I've just had a test ride on a sv650 at john pease.

pretty quick aren't they! - epsecially compared to the er-5.

is there a nack to riding them - the engine braking is pretty huge aint it - found myself to feel rather jerky at times - as when you come of the throttle it slows immediately.

good fun though... the bloke was saying I could have one by saturday... oooh the temptation - in blue too.

are john pease any good - any of you guys use them?

paul

You get used to the engine braking and cater for it after a while. :D

in DAS they teach you to come off the throttle to start breaking, I've found that just rolling off is enough to almost stop the bike calmly all the way down from 90, within a safe distance.

I hate John Pease myself, they always had a tendancy towards treating me like either an illiterate fool or the local tramp, and their used stock was over priced for too many miles, same with Hadlers on baddow road. Oddly Cannon (BMW dealer near the post office depot in town) regularly has SVs' going thru their books for pretty good dealer prices (K3's under 3 grand), all well serviced and 12 months warranty but turn over is bloody quick. I think best new price for an SVs are not local boys, something like Fowlers in bristol.

:D

Used John Pease a few times, tend to be hit and miss, One time great service another time fairly poor...

seems to go on a day by day basis

I might try Alpha's next time

I used J. Pease only for the dealer stamp - i serviced it myself - they did a "basic checkup" and gave me the stamp..

Wouldn't trust them to do the servicing - (I've seen them work)[/b]
