Some people have restricted licenses and are only allowed to ride bikes with up to 33bhp. De-restricted just means when they take that restriction off of the bike.

well it depends on what has been restricted, normally we are talking about power, there are a lot of sv owners that are restricted to 33bhp and after 2 years they can de restrict their sv's to full power

Pardon my ignorance, but why do people get restricted licences?, surely you are better off with a licence that permits you to ride any bike?

if you're under 21 you can't get an unrestricted license straight off. Some people don't feel comfortable with the larger bike during their test, some people can't put their feet down.
A variety of reasons.

you cant if your under 21, you have to ride restricted for 2 years if your say 17, then you get to move to unrestricted licence

Alas, if you live in Northern Ireland, there is no direct access course (DAS) which allows you to go straight to a full licence

My restrictor is out in 2 weeks

... that was an easy question. Now ask what 'counter steering' is?

I can expain counter steering and I can do it, but I cannot make you understand it 8-[ My training is nearly complete Obi-Wan! :lol

You can ride any bike

As soon as i passed my test, i could have rode away on a rocket III if i wanted to, it would have just had to have been restricted to 33bhp
