Sticker removal - how?

Could someone please tell me the best way to remove the idiot stickers ( "always wear a helmet, Ride safely blah blah) from my bike without leaving any residue or damaging the paintwork?

Hairdryer then WD40 or etahnol for the residue. Avoids all the scratching off...

cheers me dears - thought as much but wasn't sure

for the residue, I found a very dry thumb better than WD 40 - you can rub the sticky stuff up to a blob and peel off to lump of sticky - then use WD 40 for the last bits

I've got some 'Sticky Stuff Remover' from betterware. Anyone reckon this will damage the paintwork?
