starter motor and oil leak

On removing the starter motor to make sure that it isn't seized up..... the garage hadn't checked this :roll:

oil p*ssed out everywhere from the hole where the spline and O-ring fit into the engine casing :?

should this happen as im 50/50 as to wheter oil should be coming out of here :!:

any ideas please :?:

Took my starter off during winter & made a right mess too. Angle bike sits at side to side & fore/aft makes a difference too. :cry:
