It's not just the weather we will have to watch the skys for
 

From today’s MCN:

"Bikers in Gloucestershire will need to keep an eye in the sky this summer.

The county's police have invested in a high-tech helicopter tracking system which beams images directly to their Cheltenham HQ.

The choppers will be patrolling the skies on the lookout for bikers speeding through the popular Cotswold roads.

The police are planning to confiscate bikes under the 2002 Police Reform Act and it will cost you £105 to get it back."

That last bit takes the **** somewhat. :shock:

Does this mean they aren,t going to target cars then, just ordinary law abiding bikers who might slip over the speed limit by a few mph, if we get pulled over on the rideout can we say we were testing the bikes handling characteristics when ridden in a large group?

Well as the AR05 is going to be a nice orderly procession at more or less legal speeds as there will be so many of us and of all different skill levels it's not really going to apply. However it's certainly worth noting when travelling to and from the ride-out.

Hopefully if the chopper sees a large group of bikes it wont just send a few cars out to give us all a pull and check plates/exhausts etc.

Police in an Apache helicopter targeting bikers :shock: ... brings back images from Top Gear. Just tell the police we had to go fast so they could not get a lock on us :lol:

One such occasion I wish I did have a LAW all to myself.

I am sure the chopper will have more important stuff....like looking for missing people etc........

anyhow its gonna rain....so i doubt we will be speeding (much)
