I've noticed a simliar problem with mine, its not much of a problem just that I have to be a bit more forceful with the lever from time to time. The knowledgable ones should be along soon :D

This topic comes up quite a bit.

Check your oil level. Too high or low will give this result. Also check the lever, clean degrease and grease up again.

Check your chain tension, too tight or slack will also cause difficulty changing gear.

Check your clutch free play, again too much slack or not enough will cause the same symptom.

All the above and is your oil clean?I found changing the oil helped with a similar problem and made the clutch much better.

so how does the chain being loose affect the gear change?

i thought my chain needed tightening, but i measured that it was about 30mm play... which is just acceptable.

clutch free play is interesting... is this the play in the lever, before you feel it pull?
i think mine is probably out here... but adjusting the screw bit at the lever just moved the bite point further out, which i didnt really like....

perhaps a little bit on undue worry here.... but could the clutch be on the way out?
