chain splitter/riveter
 
Can anybody recomend a good tool? im gonna need one very soon and iv had a look at the motrax one for 50 quid, any body used this one? and iv found some on ebay for around 30 quid but im un sure about the quality of em. any sugestions?

I got one of ebay and bent it... better of with a circular saw and a round headed hammer.

I paid £100 for the official DID tool from Demon Tweeks.

I think it's aimed at DID chains though,

However it's the dogs-******** and a piece of **** to use and I've only fitted the 1 chain.

I was looking for a good one, but decided that £50 would pay for my dealer to rivet on 10 chains for me, so that should last me about 15 years or so :) So I fit the chain with a clip link then ride there to rivet it.

You're lucky to have such a considerate dealer. My nearest dealer would probably tell me they're busy and that they could maybe squeeze me in a week on Tuesday.
