Intermittent indicators

99 SV 650 curvy faired model.
Why do my indicators work when the engine is cold but stop working between 5 and 10 minutes into a ride?.
I have even tried it this morning, sterted the bike from cold and put the indicators on, working fine, keep on swithing from left to right every 30 seconds or so cancelling between changes and after about 10 mins they stop working.
I thought it could be heat affecting the relay, so off with the seat, engine still running and remove what i thought was the indicator relay ,the one above the battery next to the fuses (no manual ) and the engine stopped. Put relay back in press starter and she fires up no probs but still no indicators.
Where is the indicator relay?

cheers

with the engine off and the seat off, and the indicators working... run your finger over the ralays, the one that feels like it's clicking is the indictaor relay...
does your bike have a hazzard switch?, as it might be a bad earth prob in the switch.

hope this helps.

It sounds like the flasher can may be goosed, is it anywhere near the engine? its normally a little round or square silver box with 3 or 4 terminals on it

Mind you my indicators are intermittant, on, off, on off etc :P
