stopping rust appearing on your bolts.
stopping rust appearing on your bolts.
whats the best way to stop this. during the winter - i used wd40 on them so keep them clean , but didnt work very well - the bolts with wd40 on seemed to rust more than the bolts with no wd40 on. wouldl grease be a good option ? |
Grease, or vaseline... anything like that that sticks well. Only problem is if the bolts are in areas where you're likely to touch them as it'll come off on clothing... and you really don't want suspect vaseline stains on your leathers...

ACF50 is the business, IMO... It even prevents previously rusted bolts which have been kurusted from rusting again, which is fantastic in my book.
besides, I thought you had a Honda, they're not supposed to rust :) |

Nah, FS365 is the Scottoiler stuff. It's good too. ACF50 is an aerospace industry spinoff that Patch recommended to us, I decided to give it a crack and it's like black magic. Very impressive. I've found it needs to be reapplied after a proper clean with Muc-off or after the bolts are worked at all but otherwise it just doesn't seem to need reapplication. Result for the lazy!
