650 engine life?
It's been asked and told before, but what's the latest on high mileage on a 650 engine?
I'm interested as DL650 people are speculating on this subject, and asked me to ask you lot. I'm after a figure for a normal usage engine, without rebuilds and major refurbs or parts etc. You'lll get my drift. Any idea? |

Provided the oil is changed very regularly (2-3k) and it's maintained correctly there's no reaon why it shouldn't do 100k+ miles.

No idea... mine has done 27K and as far as I can tell the engine has never been apart, It does get looked after and has a full service history
Now saying that what the betting that it now lunches its internals |
Anyone with less than 60k need not apply....DLs have passed that already.
Mind you if any have lunched at say 40 or 50k thats interesting to know as the 60k's could be unusual. |
god i must be bored........
just trawled the search function to find this. hope it helps. http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.ph...290&highlight= |
Thanks, Will
So thats Rictus with '151,768 miles total in 2 years 8 months' and Randy O with '107,038..... I'm still running the original engine, never done anything to it except change oil and keep it tuned' |

Yep rictus went through 3 engines, i think he blew one up and decide to change the other one when it started to make a noise.
So an average of 50k RMiles (thoes are Rictus Miles by the way, a bike has never had it so hard with thoes type of miles.) |
