Insurance renewal time..who do you use?

Hey everybody

After spending all morning searching previous posts about insurance i've finaly figured that it was a big waste of time. Some peeps recommend xyz insurance cos they are dirt cheap ......if you live anywhere but london that is

So a question for all those in the smoke.

Who should i try for good prices? Who do you currently use?

I'm with Bennets and have 1yrs NCB. Thing is they are quoting more this year than last year so they aint getting my business again.

Zig,

I was getting silly quotes last year, for 3PFT... but then got a very reasonable quote with H&R (www.insurance2000.co.uk).

Much cheaper than everyone else, for an EC1 postcode. My bike isn't alarmed, but they acknowledged the disc lock that I use, and the alphadot.

Definitely worth a try...!

i'm insured with norwich onion via churchill. they have quite a good online system. going thru churchill was significantly cheaper than going to NU direct.

i have 4 yrs ncb, a dirty, dirty licence (!) and fully comp was £600 or something along those lines, postal district SW18.

I ive in one of the worst postcodes in London and I had to go for H&R too, they were cheaper than most by a fair bit, and my excess was very low. I know Ricardo also uses them.

Give Footman James a try though, http://www.footmanjames.co.uk, as they are were cheap too but they're excess was too high, but better if you've got some no claims.

Thanks for that billy....the website isnt working tho :(

Anyonw else use or tried ebikeinsurance? I just tried them and its about half the price of my last lot.

Current renewal is £516.60
New Quote is £283.50 and with a lower excess too!!!

Like Billy, Im with NIG (Via H&R acting as brokers).

They seem to provide quite a good service as well as having reasonable premiums. I think they specialise in 'city bikers' and therefore are better equipped to quote at more competative prices in London than others...

I use Elite insurance:
0800 9775065
though highway are my underwriters as often.

Thamesbank are a good last call as they'll basically almost certainly lop £10 off the best quote but it's only valid for the time of the call so you phone them last

keep em comming guys

Tried churchills and Devitt and they both offered the following

Option 1 ..... Option 2
Premium £458.42 ..... £794.36
Insurer NIG ..... Zenith
Policy Excess £200 ..... £400
Free minimum period of Foreign Travel per trip 60 days ..... 60 days
Driving Other Bikes No ..... No
Legal Expenses included Yes ..... Yes
Personal Accident included Yes ..... Yes
Protected NCD included No ..... No

Zenith are a bit of a joke arent they ?

Still curious and concerned as to why ebikeinsurance are so much cheaper and who they are.
