Will a k2 shock fit only k3 onwards sv's or will it fit a curvey?

The problem with fitting is that the reservoir sits where the battery was. I've got a brand new gixxer K3 shock but haven't fitted it to my curvy as it doesn't look to me like there will be room for the battery under the seat with the new shock fitted.
