Everyone Pray

Can everyone please say a little prayer for Godikus' bike...

Its not well, very sick, during our ride-out today it developed a strange problem...

He now has a bike that has indicators that never go out , all four of them are on all the time, even when the bike is switched off  ... To make matters worse I now looks as if one of the seals on the engine has given up as but the time we got him home the back cylinder block and crank covers were covered in what apeared to be oil  ...

So please all say a little prayer, that the boys bike will be ok and he can come out to play again soon...

the oil thankfully isn't a problem. just one of the we pipes came off when we had the airbox off. the indicators still have me confused tho :? any ideas?

All the electrics are staying on while the ignition is off. everything is on, but if you try to start it it clicks and kinda resets it so everything is off. atleast it did to start with :? got my battery sitting next to me so it doesnt drain.

your hugging the battery is it that bad???

Godikus 18-06-05 05:00 PM

... it's probably the only part of the bike clean enough for me to hug

just noticed another problem. when i left i had 29,970 miles on the clock. now i have 30,008... doest quite add up for 4 hours of riding

I did 192 miles today, you must have done about the same, I just hope its not mega expensive to fix!!!

Check your loom for shorts and check the relay.
Apart from that, dunno.

BigDog 18-06-05 07:08 PM

I would imagine that it is the relay jammed, It should be easy enough to check it, borrow one from your mates bike.
A relay is just a connection either normally open or normally closed depending on its function, if it gets stuck it closed it will have constant power running through its connection therefore your indicators (as in this case) will stay on perminantly.

Hope this helps :)

 my proscessor just got fried. maybe i should stay away from anything electrical.

The only reason i would doubt it's the relay is when the ignition was off everything was staying on. the lights even the tacho

the ignition switch is the most lightly problem.
