I get the same problem. Pretty sure I saw some other posts around here saying the same thing but I never got around to taking their advice and fixing it.
I do some searches for us. EDIT: here you go http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.ph...hlight=neutral http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.ph...hlight=neutral http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.ph...hlight=neutral http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.ph...hlight=neutral main culprits seem to be chain and oil. Mines done it pretty much since I bought it from a garage so I'm not really sure why it does it unless the trader was a monkey. Mines a 2000 SVS if it matters. |
Chain adjusted? Helped a lot with mine.

still happens to me occasionally - or it gets stuck in neutral and won't select 1st. Normally solved by a quick blip of the throttle.

Ensure clutch adjustment is spot on. If the bike has a significant mileage, there is a possibility that the detent plunger or spring is worn.

cheers guys for the info, turns out to much oil....phew, :D happy again
