GSXR Shocks

Which GSXR shock will go on a K3 SV650s with the minimum of fuss? Been offered a Gixxer 1000 K2 unit but not too sure if it will go on my SV or if I have to start hacking things to bits to make it fit.

All help greatly appreciated. :D

I believe from the K2, they're all basically the same... I fitted a K3 shock to mine.

It will fit, but will require cutting of the battery box. If you want a replacement shock, and don't want to pay hundreds of £££ on a proper after market shock like a hagon, there is no getting around this.

i have a K2 shock, it fits with (as mentioned) some cutting of the battery box.

you'll need a different bottom bolt, do a search on BillyC posts (or PM him of course) as he posted the part number up quite recently.

I have a GSX-R 1000 (red) shock going, bought it in error a while back.

Oooo, sounds interesting. How much? Also, how much cutting of the battery box is required?

Flamin_Squirrel 29-06-05 12:15 PM

Not too much cutting is required.

Is it just like a little square or something to house the shock reservoir, or does the box need moving to accomodate the new shock? Obviously, Id like to make as little "mods" as poss to the battery compartment but still fit the shock

Flamin_Squirrel 29-06-05 12:24 PM

Some cutting, the battery box doesn't need moving.

Very true, but you may find it easier to cut if you take it off :D
