girly question - yellow!!!
Hi All,
I want a yellow one! But can anyone tell me if the different years are the same colour yellow or does it vary? The main reason I ask is that I have seen pictures of a 2001 and 2002 for sale but the 2001 looks lighter [/img] |
I think the yellow changed for the K2 (2002) model from Y9F to Y9H
|
The colour changed at K1 (2001), mine (in avatar) is the lighter lemony type yellow Y9H, the previous year was a darker orangey yellow.
I thought the K2 was the same as the K1. (edit; thinking back, didn't they drop yellow at K2 and bring in silver instead?) Not sure about K3, I've a feeling there wasn't a yellow at all, only came back in K4 ? :? |
^^^^^^^^ as above i had a k1 (2001) yellow and it was lighter than the year before

sv colour
yep red ones is right.
i have a y9f colour, noticed one day that it has a y9h centre piece in the front fairing, but it's only noticeable in really dodgy lighting |
When you look at the yelow curvy SV's one is a lemon type colour, the other a darker "honey" colour.
As far as I recall, I don't think I've seen a Mk1 naked SV in yellow, but I may be wrong. The "rarest" colour is red, they only did that for 2 years. Again one was bright red, the other a darker shade, but not as deep as say "wine". . |
X and Y models [99-2000] came in pearl canyon yellow.
K1 nad K2 models [2001-2002!] came in pearl lively yellow. Dunno which is which though, I've got a blue one! |
pearl canyon yellow is thew darker custardy colour
pearl lively yellow is the lighter lemony colour |
The lighter colour, on later bikes, is Pearl Lively.
There are quite a lot of grey and parallel imports around, and so you can get earlier colours on later registration plates. It's no big deal as long as the headlights are right (ie dip left) and also ask about the Odometer (mileage). You can find bikes where the speedos have been refaced to read in mph but the odo shows kms....I know, I have one! Others will certainly know better than me, but I don't think there were any significant technical differences between parallels and genuine UK bikes. |
Thanks guys - most helpful.
I thing I might plan a drinking session in york :D and go look at them! Not too sure I like the lighter colour though. Hope its not too light :? |
