please help me. svs to sv

please help me. svs to sv changeover in progress. i took off my fairing today from my 02 svs and noticed the bike wont start anymore. im sure its cause of the wires that are disconnected.

so i need to buy a tach from an 02. will my harnesses wire right up to a sv tach? then i need turn signals and a headlight. where to go for headlights? any help is appreciated. anyone ever done this?

no one has done this huh? :o

It would honestly be cheaper for you to sell your SVS and buy a naked SV of the same year/condition. What you are attempting is more difficult than you think and will leave you with a motorcycle that will be almost impossible to sell when the time comes.

well dont plan on selling it anytime soon. i keep my bikes and cars for a long, long time, as i customize everything. i think its not gonna be that hard i just need some advice from someone whos done it before.

if i buy the tach from an 02 naked the wiring harnesses should mate right up to it. hopefully. then im gonna fab a bracket to mount the tach. then i just need turn signals and a headlight.
im sure its easier said than done but its what i like to do. customize everything.

Customising it into a naked? That's not very custom, you can buy them like that

thanks smart ass! but seriously it will be. im not putting the stock headlight, or turnsignals, the only stock peice will be the tach. heres a phot of something similar.

My advice would be to phone John at SV Mania - he'll be able to answer any questions you may have - & prob supply you with any nice trick bits you might require !! (and NO, I don't work for them - I've just found them very useful)
