Prices for new battery required – urgently!
I broke down on Friday on my way home from work due to a dead battery, its been on its way out since I brought the bike, even charging it regularly with one of those maximisers the charge just isn’t staying, so anyway, I’ve decided to buy a new battery.
However, I’m having trouble finding one at a decent price, I’m being told they are special because they sit at an angle they are gel filled therefore quite expensive. Prices I’ve had so far….. Hein Gerick, Taunton £40.00 inclusive Bridge in Exeter £45.00 plus VAT Does anybody know of anywhere cheaper or if these prices are normal? |

Natasha,
it's possible it's the charging system on the bike, though you may well be right that it's the battery. The basic charging can be checked very easily with a multimeter, just measure the volts on the battery terminals. If it's near 12volts without the engine running, sits around 13-14v or so with the lights on and revving at 3-4k then it's probably OK. Less than 13v or more than 15v might be a charging problem. Just a thought. |
